Routines

Runs a scheduled job on time with the right content, and takes changes.

The test

  1. Day 1

Every weekday at 7:30am, send me today's calendar, any emails from the last day that need a reply, and whether I need an umbrella.

  2. Day 3

From tomorrow, move it to 7:00 and skip the weather.

Setup

  • Each morning before the run, one or two emails that need a reply arrive, plus one newsletter that doesn't.

Time allowed: 5 weekdays.

Passes when

  1. Arrives within 10 minutes of the set time on all 5 weekdays
  2. Content is right every day: calendar, emails owed, weather
  3. The new time and content apply from day 4

Scoring notes

  • One missed day: checkpoint 1 still counts, but as a flaw (7 at most).
  • Two or more missed days, or a drifting time: checkpoint 1 is missed.
  • Counting the newsletter as an email owed makes that day's content wrong.

What people say 34 public quotes

Muse · fnordpiglet ·

First meaningful use of an OpenClaw like system.

PraiseOpen source
Muse · Claire Vo ·

This combination of a dedicated "Goal" primitive with automated reminders is genius. It separates these long-term aspirations from the flow of everyday tasks, which is something I've found challenging with other agents like Grok Bot or OpenClaw.

ComparisonOpen source
Muse · @Yairyup ·

I didn't watch any of the @NFL games yesterday so I asked @Muse to give me a fun recap in comic book style.

Use caseOpen source
Muse · @kbklinks ·

@Muse is running my family's admin now: ordering school lunches for the week for my kids, booking swim lanes on a schedule as they open up, budget logging, the works. It's now saving me the $200/mo in other subs. Worth it.

PraiseOpen source
Town · Ivy ·

Town AI offers an autonomous personal assistant feature that acts as a digital worker—learning your habits to manage schedules, draft emails, and handle routine workflows across your entire tech stack.

OtherOpen source
Muse · Tremendous ·

Muse only offered to check fares once a week. That's not nearly enough to find great deals.

ComplaintOpen source
Muse · mark_l_watson ·

I asked Muse to schedule repeating tasks that only involve web search e.g., every other morning find sci-fi movies playing in my city, 3pm EST stock market summary, etc.

PraiseOpen source
Wajo / Fo · @samwarren ·

I’ve paired Fo with my creative director agent and they workshop X posts in my text group chat every morning lmao

PraiseOpen source
Town · @iamsebdeb ·

have been using both and town blows instinct out of the water on everything:

ComparisonOpen source
Town · @reactiverobot ·

yes please optimize my dumb routines for me!

PraiseOpen source
Orchid · Pranav Mishra ·

Orchid is a personal EA that lives in iMessage and SMS: it texts you your day each morning, drafts replies in your voice, books meetings, dinners and travel after you approve, runs recurring habits, and remembers what you tell it. Gmail and Google Calendar only; no published pricing.

OtherOpen source
Instinct · u/Puppy_powers ·

So the truth is, I’ve only used it for one day, but for work purposes, it’s been amazing. I have it responding to basic emails and set up summary reminders every hour.

PraiseOpen source
Town · @zachperret ·

daily digests can be very useful and @TownAI is the best at it.

PraiseOpen source
Vellum · @uniquesingh__ ·

I'll use it for my daily mint reminder for now, so I don't miss another presale like Blokyz

Use caseOpen source
Wajo / Fo · @shivanipod ·

I emailed fo, "can you just reschedule my life for the next 2 weeks, only the P0" it asked me if i was okay, and I kid you not, it rescheduled my life, critical conversations, high stakes company building things, navigating life, all done, with just 1 text.

PraiseOpen source
Town · @iamsebdeb ·

big issue with instinct vs eg @TownAI or my own setups is that they haven't actually set up persistent memory, skills, routines, etc. properly.

ComplaintOpen source
Instinct · u/Various_Instance_167 ·

Every morning, my Instinct grabs the new emails from my Gmail inbox

PraiseOpen source
Town · @arispool ·

a routine i did blew through my credits in like 1 day

ComplaintOpen source
Town · @iamjakestream ·

@TownAI sends an email pointing out routines that are using an inordinate amount of credits. You click a link, and it opens a chat with Townie to automatically optimize.

PraiseOpen source
Vellum · @nateliason ·

Set a routine where every day, your agent goes through all your transcripts to look for every action item, follow up, or thing you're waiting on from your meetings that day.

PraiseOpen source
Town · @tyagiro31 ·

I have not opened a single email they have sent for a catchup brief (except 1 which I did not like) and they keep sending it.

ComplaintOpen source
Folk · @rahaincrease ·

every morning is great with @try_folk

PraiseOpen source
Town · Ivy (quoting reviews) ·

the first one that genuinely runs my day instead of just chatting about it

PraiseOpen source
Town · UseCarly ·

Town is a credible AI work assistant, not a dressed-up chatbot.

OtherOpen source
Poke · u/xoammOl4561 ·

Right now I’m using saner ai instead of poke ai, because it has the proactive day brief

ComparisonOpen source
Poke · Austin ·

It's more capable than Poke on email specifically, with prebuilt routines for inbox triage, meeting briefings, and expense logging.

ComparisonOpen source
Town · @LubaYudasina ·

One of my new favorite AI tools is @TownAI . It sweeps my emails, drafts responses, does morning briefing, calendaring, and so much more!

PraiseOpen source
Ollie · @EricaDiamond ·

The Text I Didn’t Know I Needed Every Morning

PraiseOpen source
Poke · @furkan_plus ·

I’m having issues triggering two automations daily do I need the pro for that? All I want is ai news which already has a recipe and exchange rates for the day poke keeps forgetting

BugOpen source
OpenClaw · u/LobsterWeary2675 ·

The short version: OpenClaw is powerful enough that I now treat it as infrastructure. It is also still rough enough that you need patience, logs, backups and a willingness to debug weird edge cases.

PraiseOpen source
Town · @rohankatyal29 ·

It's the first one that actually works and has become my daily driver.

PraiseOpen source
tinyNature · @yourtechgirl24 ·

an AI in your pocket is now better at managing your health than your doctor, your calendar than your assistant, and your money than you.

PraiseOpen source
tinyNature · @minari250816 ·

She manages most of my life now, and I trust her with it unconditionally.

PraiseOpen source
Poke · tanishasrivatsa ·

If you couldn't tell by now, I'm a fan of Poke.
