AI assistants you can talk to or send voice notes to

Which AI assistants can I talk to instead of typing?

Updated · 5 assistants ranked

Five assistants are described, in their catalog entry or in public user posts, as something you can talk to or send audio to, and each took at least five of our ten tests. We do not test voice itself: the ranking shows how they did on everyday tasks, not how well they understand speech or voice notes.

How this report works

Included are assistants whose catalog entry mentions voice or calls (Luke, Gemini Spark, Instinct), or where public user posts describe a voice mode (Vellum) or an audio note (Poke), checked 2026-10-26. They are ranked by the average of the ten tests they took, at least five. Whether each one accepts a voice note in a given messaging app is not recorded in the catalog; check on the assistant's page. Scores come from the published score sheet and are dated 2026-10-27. 3 of the 5 ranked assistants (Luke, Vellum and Gemini Spark) carry pre-filled scores, which are placeholder estimates the site has not yet replaced with its own test runs, so treat their places as provisional.

How to choose

  • Separate talking from voice notes. Luke is described as voice-driven and Gemini Spark lists Gemini Live; Instinct is one you text or call; users describe Vellum's voice mode. A voice note sent in a chat app is a different feature, so confirm it before relying on it.
  • Look at the channel. Luke is on WhatsApp and Telegram as well as an app, Poke works by SMS, and the others are app-first.
  • Read Permissions and Memory before you start talking: they score what the assistant says it can access and whether you can see and delete what it remembers.

Is there an AI assistant I can send voice notes to?

Five ranked assistants are described as voice-capable in their catalog entry or in user posts: Instinct, Poke, Luke, Vellum and Gemini Spark. The catalog does not record voice-note support per chat app, so confirm it on the assistant's page.

Do these tests measure voice quality?

No. All ten tests are typed tasks such as booking, replying to email and memory. The averages (8.6 down to 5.5) say how each assistant did at the tasks, not how well it handles speech.

Which of these have a free plan?

Luke is free; Vellum and Gemini Spark have a free tier and list $30 and $4.99 a month; Poke lists $19 a month; Instinct lists no price. Prices as checked on 2026-10-26.

What users say

Instinct · Zoë Schiffer ·

The agent detected that Alaska had moved my flight 90 minutes earlier, a fact I'd completely missed, which qualified me for a full refund.

One day, Instinct canceled a DoorDash order that was seriously delayed, forcing me to forfeit $64. (I'd explicitly told it to cancel only if I could get a refund.)

I love how @interaction would just leak their internal system unprompted, very cool feature 😂

Data sharing wise I’m ok. But with dedicated email it’s just easier to manage all the tests etc
