Free AI assistants for students: reminders, schedules and to-dos

Which free AI assistants can remind me of deadlines and keep my schedule?

Updated · 4 assistants ranked

Four assistants with a free plan or free tier describe themselves around reminders, calendar or to-dos and took at least two of our Routines, Proactive Help and Connected apps tests. This looks at scheduling features only: we do not test homework or essay help, and an assistant that writes your assignments is not something this report recommends.

How this report works

Included are assistants with a free plan or free tier (checked 2026-10-26) whose catalog description mentions reminders, calendar, to-dos or goals: Caddy, Del, Folk, Nessi, Ollie, Pally and Poke. They are ranked by the average of Routines, Proactive Help and Connected apps, with at least two taken; Caddy, Del and Folk have fewer and are not ranked. Scores come from the published score sheet and are dated 2026-10-27. 1 of the 4 ranked assistants (Nessi) carries pre-filled scores, which are placeholder estimates the site has not yet replaced with its own test runs, so treat its place as provisional. Nessi has two tests, so its average is thin.

How to choose

  • Read the free allowance, not just the word free. Ollie gives 50 messages a month plus 6 free a day, and Nessi lists no usage limit. Poke's free allowance is not stated, and its paid plan lists $19 a month.
  • Routines checks a 7:30am weekday briefing arrives on time all five days and takes a change on day 4. That is the closest test to a class-schedule or deadline reminder.
  • Check the channel. Pally, Ollie and Nessi work by text message; Poke by SMS or its app. Pick the one you actually look at between lectures.

Which free AI assistants can remind me of deadlines?

Four ranked assistants have a free plan or free tier and a Routines, Proactive Help or Connected apps score: Pally (8.7 average), Ollie and Poke (8.0 each) and Nessi (5.0). The Routines test checks a scheduled message arrives on time for a whole week.

Should I use an AI assistant to do my homework?

We do not test or recommend that. These tests cover reminders, schedules and unprompted nudges only; check your school's rules on AI use before using any assistant for coursework.

Is the free plan enough for a student?

It depends on the allowance: Ollie lists 50 messages a month plus 6 free a day and Nessi lists no limit, while Pally says almost unlimited use that refills through the week. Prices and allowances as checked on 2026-10-26.
