How this report works
Included are assistants whose catalog description (checked 2026-10-26) mentions goals, keeping you on track or reminders. They are ranked by the average of Routines (a check-in on time), Proactive Help (speaking up unprompted) and Memory (remembering your goal), with at least one taken. Scores come from the published score sheet and are dated 2026-10-27. 2 of the 5 ranked assistants (Friday and Nessi) carry pre-filled scores, which are placeholder estimates the site has not yet replaced with its own test runs, so treat their places as provisional. Caddy and Tomo have one test each, and Dots, Friday and Nessi two, so averages are thin.
How to choose
- Look at all three tests. A habit check-in needs the Routines timing, Proactive Help to nudge you without being asked, and Memory to remember what you committed to.
- Mind the thin data. Only Dots, Friday and Nessi have two of the three scores, and Folk has none.
- Pick the channel you will see: Folk and Tomo are texting assistants, Dots is an app, so choose where a nudge will actually reach you.
Can an AI assistant keep me on track with a habit?
Six catalog entries describe goals, tracking or reminders, and five have scores on at least one of our relevant tests. We test timed check-ins, unprompted nudges and memory of what you said, not streak counts or habit logs.
Which assistants have the most test scores here?
Dots (8.5 over two tests), Friday (6.0, two) and Nessi (4.5, two); Tomo (7.0) and Caddy (6.0) have one test each. Friday and Nessi are pre-filled, so their places are provisional.
How is this different from the ADHD page?
That page looks at Routines and Proactive Help for assistants that mention reminders. This one adds Memory and includes Dots, which describes working toward goals.
What users say
It pushed Gmail before I asked for it - it kept pitching features instead of following the conversation - It asked too many questions back-to-back
Open sourceLike fully getting my timezone wrong, forgetting conversations from the prior week. It also wouldn’t respond and messages to me wouldn’t come through.
Open sourceGreat if you want a coach for habits. Less useful if you want one assistant for everything.
