How this report works
Included are assistants whose catalog entry (checked 2026-10-26) lists a free trial in its free allowance. A free tier without a trial, such as Folk's or Hark's, is not counted. They are ranked by the average of all ten tests, with at least four taken. Scores come from the published score sheet and are dated 2026-10-27. 1 of the 3 ranked assistants (Joshu) carry pre-filled scores, which are placeholder estimates the site has not yet replaced with its own test runs, so treat their places as provisional.
How to choose
- Read what the trial leads to. Joshu's 14-day trial leads to a $95 monthly plan, Town's Pro trial sits on top of a free tier of 30 chat messages a month, and Del's two weeks come with a free tier.
- Compare the tests they took, not only the average: Town took five, Del six and Joshu four, and they are not the same ones.
- Use the trial on the test you care about. Each test is on the Dimensions page, so you can run the same request yourself.
Which AI assistants have a free trial?
Three in our catalog: Del (two weeks), Joshu (14 days) and Town (7-day Pro trial on signup). Other assistants offer free tiers instead, which the best-free report covers.
Which of the three scores best?
Town averages 8.4 over five tests, Del 5.3 over six and Joshu 4.5 over four. Joshu is pre-filled, so its place is provisional.
Is a free trial the same as a free plan?
No. A trial ends; a free tier carries on with limits. Town has both. The best-free report ranks assistants with a free plan.
